I have 2 scars from having my wonderful kids, and then I hae a scar on my knee from running around a pool, and falling, and a rock went thru my knee, and my teeth. Scars from being attacked by cats and dogs (wounds of war from rescue) and that is pretty much it. Oh yes, a scar on my forearm from touching the top inside of the oven. haha.


4) What is a food that you like to eat, but others might think its gross or weird? Anything with Ranch and Texas Pete on it, oh and buttered popcorn with cut up candy fruit slices! YUM.


5) Have you ever seen a tornado in real life? Yes, multiple.

For animal lovers, and non-animal lovers...

Back when I first started my blog, I had written a post about a special little girl, Precious. If you have not had a chance to read it, please do. This entry is full of passion and heartache. I wrote this for animal lovers like myself, TO non-animal lovers. I am warning you, it is a smidge long, and it is very sad, but please read it if you can. I just thought about this and wanted to re-post it. It reminds me of what I have, instead of compalining about poop, and shredded shoes. Thank you. ::Kristin::

1,000 Cookies

  To those of you who can't live without reading my blog everyday, all 1 of you, ME. :) I am going to be pretty busy until Wednesday. I might blog, I might not. Wait, who am I kidding, I will stay up til the wee hours to catch up on blogging with you all. But just in case I don't, I have a good reason, honest.
  
  My church has asked me to make cookies for, the parents who will be dropping off their kids, for vacation Bible School! To give you a ballpark, I have to make 1,000 cookies, 250 a day for 4 days! Now, that is just for the parents dropping off their children, so you know our church is pretty big. I am so glad they thought of me, but honestly, I don't do cookies.

  My sugar cookie recipe, is adapted and made into my own, from Amanda's over at I Am Baker. Now they are delicious, but 1,000 of them! Whew. Talk about busy, the only cookies I have made have been maybe 30 at the most, and they were for my kids and get togethers. ONE THOUSAND!?!? Boy did I put my foot it in. I am so grateful for this opportunity, but I have my little home kitchen oven, and literally 2 cookie sheets!

  Which by the way, one looks horrible {but it rocks!} and the other is banged up and scratched from sledding on it! HAHA. Ok, well I am off to make 25 batches, 40 cookies each, hopefully I won't drown in cookie dough! :) I need my twin sister, she is starting her own cookie business, Cookies by Cherie, and I am starting cupcakes and cakes, Kuppy Kakes by Kristin. Great minds think alike I guess!

Although, I must admit, I am kind of giddy about it. When all is said and done, that is one more, big thing, I can put 'under my belt'! After all, you have to start somewhere, my somewhere just happened to be a sugar cookie. ;)

Pleasantly Disturbed Thursdays

All I can seem to hear, is a loud boisterous cricket! Really?! Do you not have a humble abode to go to, maybe the lake behind the neighbors house, or somewhere? Instead, you would rather sit here, where I cannot see you, and Chirp. Jeez, get a life. On another note, I was sound asleep in my cozy bed with my kids, all snuggled up after watching a movie, and RING RING!

Umm.... is that the phone? My 4 year old pops up, I got it, it's Daddy. Hehe, "Hello."

"Hey baby, I am at Lee road, be home in about 25 minutes"

(I was thinking "And.... you had to wake me up to tell me this?")

There is nothing more disturbing than being sound asleep, and being awoken by......Rubbish.

And for me to be asleep at 10:45 pm, that is a miracle, argh.

  Now I am wide awake at 1:36 am, and whining blogging to you guys. Oh and what joy! I have to be up in 5 hours to go pick up Boston, one of our great dane rescue pups, from the spay & neuter clinic. Ugh. I am going to bed. {Mumbling frick and frack under my breath} I guess it could be worse, I could be stuck in a truck, like a fat marshmallow. OH yes, Duane Scott {The Host}, thank you for the subtle reminder to gripe! I love it. :)

Sunny Days, Sweepin the clouds away.....

  My kids were watching Sesame Street this morning, for the first time, EvER. So, I felt inspired to make some cupcakes inspired by the characters. Went into the kitchen after lunch, during nap time, and started to whip up some double chocolate kuppies. These are delicious! Then my mind started to go nuts with ideas. First, I thought, I would make fondant faces.... Nah, too time consuming. Then I thought, OK, maybe I will just draw them on fondant with edible pens. Nah, too lame.

  So then I just decided to pipe on faces. Sounds easy, but truth be told, the only thing I am used to piping, is a swirl. :) Off I went to color icing and to cut out fondant facial features, eyes, noses, eyebrows, beaks. Finished piping on my sad little faces, ready to assemble, and CRAP. They need mouths! So, had to go back and color more fondant {and my hands obviously}, black. I really should use gloves for that. Then, out come the mouths, and onto the faces. OK. They are coming together better, but something is missing. YES. Cookies for The Cookie Monster. CRAP.

  Do I really want to go and get more fondant, color it brown (or try to), then cut out and shape ever so lovely into eaten cookies? NO. OK. New idea?! Think Think Think. *Proverbial Light bulb* Ah yes, I DO have kids, and they DO have crappy cereal, I allow them to eat sometimes. Cookie Crisp cereal, here I come. So, I pull out 6 cookies and on they went. Well, I was complete, now on to photography. Here is the finished project, hope you enjoy the photos!

NO CUPCAKES?!?!? Seriously?!?!

 Today, I finally got a return phone call from my son's, 'soon-to-be' school Principal. She was calling to inform me that I need to get him registered because as of now, he is late. Well, this would have been nice to know the past 100x I have called you! (That's what I wanted to say). And so, I asked a few questions and found out to my horror, that 'NO- DO NOT bring cupcakes to school for birthdays'.

  "Wait, I am sorry, haha, I didn't hear you". "No cupcakes for birthdays, we have too many things to teach and we don't have time to keep stopping every time a child has a birthday". WOW. You really just came out and said it just like that, and to a, 'soon-to-have a  cupcakery' mother?!?! Who do you think you are? This is an outcry. Those poor children who miss out on my delicious heaven I call cupcakes. But, the one thing that gets me is that, this is the only school like that.

  My new neighbor teaches at the adjoining county high school, and she told me I was in luck because, I would have a TON of kids who would want cupcakes for their birthdays. UGH! So, I am a smidge ill today. And my poor baby was so excited because "His mommy's cupcakes rock and he wanted all the little children to know how yummy they are, and I would get lots of money!" <---- Yes those are HIS words! ;) hehe. And so I said: "That's ok buddy, I will just pass them out in the Pick-up Line!" :)

From Scratch..... ;) Yes, Indeedy.

So today I cleaned my butt off! I mean, swept, mopped, dusted, laundry, vacuuming, made cookies to ice tomorrow, made brownies for pillow cookies tomorrow, blogged, re-did daughters bed twice (wash and dried), and made homemade chicken and dumplings for dinner! I am WHOOPED! But, my house is clean, my tummy is full, and tomorrow I will get to decorate cookies!

  Whew. Although, in my house, I will have to redo all of this Wednesday, ugh. Damn dogs, kids, humans, cats! Such messy peeps we all are, except for me, but everyone else is crazy dirty! ;) Today it has rained off and on, and while making dinner and putting away laundry, it was pretty bad. Lighting literally every 3 seconds, loud rumbling thunder, and torrential downpour!

  We needed it, but sheesh, I thought I was going to be struck a couple times. Sweet Abbey cat, decided to hang out in the window while it rained, brave cat. Tonight, I hope to give the kids a bath, finish laundry, and take a nice hot bath. Hopefully, tomorrow I can actually wake up at 7am, need to get on schedule for school to start! Not at all. I can do "A". :)

2. So lets just say you have a 9 hour drive ahead of you would you consider wearing Depends so you didn't have to stop multiple times? Did you know Depends now comes in fun colors? ( I have to know this one)
I am not sure if I would or not, part of me says "Yes" because I am that lazy, but then the other part says "No" because Ewww......Besides if it is me and my family, no way kids will go that long without needing to stop, or hubby. HA.

3. Run your tongue down five feet of a new york city street or press your tongue into a strangers nostril?
WTH?! HA. Umm... Of course boogies, have you seen the streets of New York, I haven't but I can assume that they scream ,"Lick me and Die"! :)

4. If you had an envelope that contained the date you would die would you open it?
Man, these are tough questions! I would want to know, especially if it were soon, but I don't think I would open it. There's nothing that can put a damper on the rest of your life like knowing when your going to die.Knowing myself, I would end up all depressed and cry til the day! HA. Not very good for my kids! :)

5. Which one song describes you sex life best?
Hands down, Easy!
