Just a southern gal from Georgia who has a real problem with baking. And by problem I mean, I can't help myself! :D I am married to the love of my life, he puts up with me so well! I am mother to the most adorable, yet tough little boy. And mother to a most beautiful full of attitude, little girl. I can't forget about our 4-legged family members! Our terrier Lucy, Our Great Dane Milo, our mutty mutt Ellie and our cats Abbey and Sammy! I LOVE to bake and I am trying to start up my own cupcakery. I love vintage anything! My blog started out as a blog for my cupcakes, now it has turned into an everyday into the life of "ME" blog. Life is not perfect and wonderful all the time, you will hear me gripe, bahahaha, it isn't all cupcakes. Just a heads up per say. :D Hope your reading experience is enjoyable! So much to do, so little time....

Hey ya'll!!! I love saying that. It has been crazy hectic since the last time I posted. The fundraiser I was helping to create and put on was a huge success and it was a complete blast! Our goal was $2,500.00 and we raised $4,700.00!!! I sold over 200 cupcakes and gave out A LOT of business cards. Sad thing, I was soooooo busy organizing and running around that whole day (I wasn't even at my table longer than 5 minutes at a time) that I didn't get any pictures. Well 1. That is the lonliest number. Here is a pic of my table... It is super tiny b/c I took it with my phone. :(

Oh wait, I do have one of my sexy hubby I stole from my stepmoms facebook. She took this at the fundraiser's charity softball game. :)
And of course the NEXT day was Valentines Day!!!
How was everyone's Valentines Day?
Here is how mine went: FANTASTIC!
Get ready for the long lovely story.
Hubby had to go to work on Valentine's Day, but of course he did call me and tell me Happy Valentine's Day after I fussed at him told him. ;)
Well skip to the good stuff. A few hours later I was sitting in my car jamming out enjoying the beautiful weather, when he calls me.
Hubs: Hey, what are you doing?
Me: I am sitting in the car rider pick up line at b's school.... why?
Hubs: just making sure your there (p.s. he always makes sure im there to pick him up, for some reason he seems to think that I will forget the child I gave birth to, even though I do this EVERY SINGLE DAY)
ME: yes, I am here, not going to leave him at school
Hubs: ok, well I got to get back to work, love
Me: Love you.
So, then the radio went back up to its loud volume and then.... NO LIE, 1.4 MINUTES LATER... I am looking out and beyond the sea of cars and low and behold- "Is that my husband?!" And sure enough, here he comes in his big ol' work van barelling over the hill. (Instant smile across my face)
Now keep in mind, this is only a little 2 lane back road... So, he pulls up beside my car, puts it in park. And with the most cheesiest adorable smile on his face hops out of his car, while it is still in the middle of the road, and pulls out a dozen red roses! Walks over to my car, hands them to me, says Happy Valentine's Day and kisses me. :D Then scampers off into his car and speeds away.
Ok. I think to myself "what just happened & how many people saw that?!" LOL. But it was so sweet!!!! So, I go back to jamming out like nothing happened, im cool like that, and pick up my son. Well, I pull into one side of the 2 laned car rider pick up, and the 5 following cars that had seen this whole mushy thing unfold behind me, pull up beside me in the other lane with the same cheesy adorable smiles. Like as to say "awww I saw that, how sweet."

So, my darling son gets into the car and we are off to pick up my neighbors little girl. On the way to pick her up, I am still trying to hold back the sappy love tears from the event that had just taken place, when I pull up to her daycare.... And there is my husband, in the parking lot (which faces the main street) standing in front of his work van with the same cheesy smile (there must have been something in that Dr. Pepper!), holding a heart shaped box of chocolates in front of him, waiting for me. GAH! At this point he is KILLING ME! He is never this sappy and lovey dovey with his endeavors.

I walk in and pick up our darling cosette, and he drives away, after multiple kisses and hugs.... OH! And while I was inside picking her up, he gives my mom (she was with me) a dozen light pink roses and chocolate too!!! (Which if you knew him and her, this was hell freezing over).

Now, I have 2 dozen roses, 2 boxes of chocolate, 1 tearful mother, 1 in awe self, and 3 noisy kids in my car at this point. I pull up in the driveway and of course have to jump out and hug and kiss on him. WHEW...

Oh but it wasn't over. :)

Later on, I wanted to give him his gift, but he refused and told me he wanted to wait until the kids got theirs. But then, he sneaks a Jareds box into the kitchen and gives it to me! URGH! So sneaky. I open it and it is 2 dark blue charms with white flowers on them for my Pandora bracelet.

He assures me we are done. So, I settle in and start to make some dinner. (For the kids, mommy & daddy were going out.) Right before the kids dug into their plates, hubbs makes them stop and wait and open their Valentines gifts. And of course.... BAM! 2 more little boxes from Jared! I'm so spoiled. One was a frog charm for my boy and a ladybug charm for my girl. :) But of course, those were from my "kids".

We left to go eat at the japanese steakhouse, and enjoyed our night together. Ahh... I usually do not like Valentine's Day.... Maybe it's because the past few were HORRIBLE. :)
But, my kids and I did make chocolate dipped strawberries, YUM.

I am also adding some pics of random valentines day stuff....
Like pics of my sons class Valentines I made, S'mores Pops and Cards.

Fundraiser--7 days left!

We are in the week away stretch for the fundraiser, and as I was typing this, I realized.... CRAP I HAVE LESS THAN ONE WEEK TO MAKE 250-500 COOKIES AND CUPCAKES... And I haven't even started. WHOA. Well I am super excited about it anyways!! Dawn and Tommy Phillips are wonderful and have a great family.

I met Dawn for the first time Friday and she was such a sweetheart. It makes me so happy to be helping out with such a wonderful thing. However, I know that this was supposed ot be a pageant, but that has been cancelled. With such little time to get this together, I just don't have time to do a pageant.

On another note, we are having a charity softball tournament. If any of you reading this would like to come out, if you live in the area, please go to the website for details. Web Site HERE...

With my honey out of town, kids, house, animals, fundraiser, and now training for my job starting Monday.... I am not sure when I am going to have the time to actually sit down and make all of these cookies. Maybe I could clone myself? I wonder if my kids would entertain themselves for awhile so I could make some.... yeah who am I kiddin! LOL.

Yoga and Sneaky Snakes

Woke up one morning and decided that I would make my hubby some breakfast before he went to work. Now keep in mind, I am not ready for the day until about after 9. So being up at 5:30, AND feeling generous, once in a lifetime. I was trying not to make too much noise in the kitchen, I did not want to wake my sleeping hellians angels from their slumber. Got out the eggs, bacon, cheese, and bread.

Scrambled the eggs, cooked the bacon til it was burnt just right, toasted the bread and put it all together! VOILA! Breakfast for my man. Now, where is my man? Still sound asleep, nice. So, HIS alarm woke ME up, but not HIM. Classic. Well, hunny left for work and of course I had full intention on NOT going back to sleep. He was certain I would, but I was going to stay strong! And I did. My little girl woke up at 6 am and peeked her little bed head into the kitchen.

She walked in with her eyes half open and speaking in the softest "just woke up" adorable tone, and asked me for some breakfast. Well in my house, when my daughter wakes up soooo stinkin cute like this, I am instantly thrown into a good mood. I leaned over the island and whispered with a HUGE grin, "What would you like for breakfast baby?" She looked back at me with her beautiful grin and pointed at the cupcake toppers I had made the night before, out of homemade MMF, and that was it. So, I said, "no baby, those are for your brothers class". Then the gut wrencher.

She looked up at me and said, "but mommy, I already had one.... in bed". My face was probably priceless at this point, and my jaw flew open, hit the ground and my mind was rapidly thinking, yeah right. haha. But no, she was right. I looked down on the tray and I was missing an entire cupcake topper and a "0" off of another one. She looked at me with the slyest grin I have ever seen, and she was so proud of herself for being so sneaky! Here I was locking up our great dane, so HE wouldn't eat one, and my precious 3 year old was the culprit! So... needless to say, momma was rushing around trying to roll out more fondant and making a new one. Kids... Nuff said.

Yoga. Here in this past week I have been doing yoga. I was so excited. The first thought in my mind, oh this is just a bunch of stretching, my kind of work out! Note: If you do yoga and you already know that this assumption is completely WRONG, shh. So, I bought this Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown.... I thought: "Meltdown? Must just be because your stretching SO much". Then I read the front of the cover, "Lose 5 pounds a week".... I paused and pondered, standing in the walmart... 5 pounds gone, from stretching? Hmm.. OK. Maybe they stretch REAL WELL.

Got home and decided to give it a go before bed. After all, who wouldn't want a nice relaxing stretch-down before you crawl into bed? I pop the DVD in and there she is, make-up and all. Aww, How pretty, see you don't need make up like that for a "real" work out. I knew this was going to be easy. You see where I am headed, don't you? Start stretching and then she wants me to get my heart rate up. For yoga?! I thought. Ok. I will humor you Jillian.

And then the workout started...... HELL ON A DVD. YOGA IS NOT EASY STRETCHING! Maybe once you have done it for years it is easy! HA. I loved the downward dog and the warrior, but this one thing, can't remember what it is called, where you have to go into a push up like postition on your elbows and then turn to your side with your arm in the air and balance..... HA. Not fun easy stretching. So, after all of my, thats easy crap.

I am sorely mistaken. But, on a side note, I LOVED IT! Now, I have to do it everyday. Funny thing, my husband walked in while I was doing it, and what did he say to me? "Yoga? Huh, thats so EASY, nothing but stretching!" BAHAHAHAHA. Sure honey. Go ahead and try it with me. ;)

Ruffle Cake 1- Me 0

Well I have been very interested in trying to make the Ruffle Cake I had seen on Amanda's Blog "i am Baker". Well today was the day! Note to self and others, make sure your frosting is thick enough. Oh and... be patient! ;)

First make your cakes and cut them in half:
Next, start your crumb coat; {this does not have to look perfect at all!}

Once you are done with your crumb coat, freeze for 5-10 minutes. Remove, and crumb coat again... {the only reason I did this twice was because I was using two different frostings inside, vanilla and chocolate}
Next, freeze for another 5 minutes.
While it is in the freezer, put your tip #103 into your piping bag and fill with frosting.
With the smaller end facing out and the larger end slightly touching the cake, squeeze out frosting in a straight line and then move it back and fourth until you reach the top.

Once finished, ENJOY! But take some pics, I would love to see them!
Here is mine, oddly enough, something happened and it was on that plate for no longer than 2 minutes. ;)

A "hopefully soon-to-be" annual event

Today, well tomorrow at 11 am, is the day that I will hope to become a part of something HUGE. A friend of mine has come up with a yearly fund-raising idea to help raise money for families in need in our area. This all started with Tommy Phillips, who is in need of a liver transplant, and can't afford the after-care meds on his own.

His wife, Dawn, works for our city. Of course, like most of us, they do not wish to ask for help. So, someone else did on behalf of them, and here we are. I am in charge of {surprise!} concessions, t-shirts, and something else I can't remember, oops. We hope to make this an on-going event and every year we will get nominations for a new family in need.

I have come up with the idea to do Pink shirts with red writing. This actually works out great since the fund-raiser will be happening the day before Valentine's Day. The plan is a pagaent, for boys and girls. No glitz and glam, just kids. And since the main sponsor is The Pine MOuntain Gold Museum {equipped with on site farm animal exhibit}, instead of talent, it is going to be "Best Farm Animal Call". Cute, huh?

I thought about putting my kids in it, but they would steal the show, and it wouldn't be any fun for anyone else. So, I guess helping out and running my Kuppy Kakes booth will be fine for me. Above, under Tommy's name is the link, so if anyone would like to donate ANYTHNG at all, you can. Any little bit helps out tremendously!

I am pretty excited about this. It started out at the museum {which isnt very big} and once the city manager heard about it, he loved it! Now we are at the "v-plex" {HUGE place} with decorations and help and a lot more space for people, sponsors, and kids. LOVE IT.

Meet Me On Monday

Head on over to Java's Meet Me On Monday's bloghop! It is a great way to meet new people and get to know them better. Every Monday she will have a set of questions for you to copy and paste and answer. Here are this mondays questions:

1. Do you like your ice cream in a dish, waffle cone, pretzel cone, sugar cone or cake cone?
I prefer it(vanilla) in a bowl, with brown sugar and caramel sauce! Or the classic mint chocolate chip, yum!

2. Do you read the newspaper daily?
Sad to say I do not.

3. Marinara or meat sauce?
Tough one. I LOVE marinara!!! BUT meat sauce is yummy too.

4. Last time you cried?
Yesterday. I was crying on the way to deliver some cupcakes to my twin sister's good friend (whom I have met before, and adore), who just found out she has a brain tumor, and she is only 25. :(

5. What word/phrase do you find really annoying?
Whatever! Or "I can't!" UGH.
