About the crazy.....

My photo
GA, United States
Just a southern gal from Georgia who has a real problem with baking. And by problem I mean, I can't help myself! :D I am married to the love of my life, he puts up with me so well! I am mother to the most adorable, yet tough little boy. And mother to a most beautiful full of attitude, little girl. I can't forget about our 4-legged family members! Our terrier Lucy, Our Great Dane Milo, our mutty mutt Ellie and our cats Abbey and Sammy! I LOVE to bake and I am trying to start up my own cupcakery. I love vintage anything! My blog started out as a blog for my cupcakes, now it has turned into an everyday into the life of "ME" blog. Life is not perfect and wonderful all the time, you will hear me gripe, bahahaha, it isn't all cupcakes. Just a heads up per say. :D Hope your reading experience is enjoyable! And please be sure to comment, follow, and grab my button!

Stockmar Park-- Warning: Photos Galore!

We have a little state park down the road from us called Stockmar Park. You can go and walk the trails up and around the "Mountain", you can pan for gold (Gold Rush of 1800 something here), you can also go to the Gold Museum, and you can visit the Live Animal Exhibit! My kids adore going there, they are in love with Chief, the big horse, and Tiny Tim, the miniature horse! I happen to love Porkster too! The park has the 2 horses named above, 2 piggies, lots of chickens, rabbits (with the longest hair I have ever seen), goats, sheep, and 2 HUGE and I mean HUGE bulls. Oh, and a most adorable, loving, bob tail black cat!

I love to hike the mountain trails, so relaxing and beautiful. The curiousity in me is dying to duck into one of the many underground pathways, caves, and tunnels. But chicken me, will not, too many bugs, too dark, and lord knows what else! Hard to believe I grew up on a farm. :) My grandfather would be sooo proud. (NOT)
Anyways, we feed the animals there about every week and I was able to get some pictures of us doing so. Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! Tomorrow it is going to be raining, and the high is FINALLY 74!!! I am so glad to be out of the 90's!!!! WHEW-HOO!

My "More S'Mores Please", cupcakes remind me of  my childhood because of how much we used to make these! We would do them every week for summer and fall at my family farm. I remember one time we made them inside of my Aunt's house, because it was raining, and we did them in the fireplace, I turned around toof ast with a hot one and BLOP! Right into my cousins hair! I felt so bad, yet it was so funny! It took us forever to get that out of her hair. Now, I have 2 small kids of my own, and this has become our tradition. They love it! I hate to say it, but I am not sure who enjoys it more, me or the kids? :) I can't wait to carry this on, and then one day they too will be doing it with their children. I hope!

$ Where in the world is Kristin?

I have not been able to post in soooo long! Please do not stone me to death! :) My computer has been on the fritz, and my keyboard decided it did not like the letters, f, v, y, o, e, and the numbers 5, 9. LOL. So, it has been too hard to try and post anything lately. On top of that, we are re-doing most of the rooms in our house. Our kids playroom is now B's bedroom, B's old bedroom is going to be little ladybugs bedroom, and little ladybugs bedroom is going to be the office, and the old office is now just our sunroom. WOW. Did I lose you? :) More posts to come on our fun adventures out as well.

I hope you all have been doing great, I have been trying to catch up on all of my favorite blogs, and to my dismay, harder than I thought it would be! Besides all of the above, I have also been busy baking my head off. I will do a post later on and show you all of my creations. Today, I am making S'mores cupcakes, and I do hope they turn out good. (Let's shoot for great, but good will do!) On a sad note, my beautiful Great Dane, Milo, has found himself a new home in TN. I am so sad that he is no longer here, but his new family is so great, and I have no worries. Wow. OK. So, a bunch of recaps, and maybe a couple excuses :), but I am back! So, expect  a lot more posts from me here in the next, oh I don't know, 80 Years! :)

$ Who says Kindergarten is the happiest place on earth?

I was ADORING my blog, and I was posting every day, sometimes 3x a day! Now, I can't seem to get my butt to sit still long enough to post. Ugh, sorry. Anywho. I am having an issue with my child. For some odd reason, this sweet, well mannered, well behaved, child of mine has been HORRIBLE at school! For the past 2 weeks, he has been getting points deducted and notes sent home every other day! Who is this child?! Not mine. He KNOWS better than to act that way. ;) But, I have taken his tv away, no computer privilages, and no outside with friends privilages. And yet, another note.

I fear, opening up his agenda, that is pretty bad. And what makes this worse, he is only in Kindergarten! Come on, how bad do you have to be? LOL. Although in his school, no tolerance, and they mean it. His teachers are great, and he loves it. But it is almost like he has never been around other kids before. Which he has. Especially other boys, maybe this is because he has a little sister at home..... I don't know. One note had mentioned how he and this other child were wrestling on the floor. WRESTLING?!? REALLY!? Were you supposed to be wrestling? "No." So then why were you? "I don't know." FAMOUS ANSWER now a days. Please tell me I am not the only one. And if I am, don't tell me, I like to think that somewhere out there someone elses child is behaving just as bad. ;) Bahaha. I hope this is a phase and he moves on.... He really is a good kid.

I found out today that his teacher goes to our church. Great. Now you REALLY have to behave, LOL. And this child has had such an attitude, I really don't know where he gets it from....... (*Wandering eyes looking away*) :) Who knows. I am not one to warn and warn and warn with no reprecussions, I do what I say I am going to do. This is what I told him: "Remember that I will find out if your bad, and if you lie, it will be worse for you. Also, keep in mind that whenever your bad at school and get into trouble, Your going to be in BIGGER trouble once you get home." I tried to sound all mean and threatning and sound like a horrid mother..... BUT I think he saw right through me. I used to never have to whip his bottom, now I do like 2-3x a week. Sheesh..... Come on son, get it in gear! Please Lord let this pass, and quickly, for the sake of my sanity and his rear end! :)

30 Days of Truth Days 12-19

Day 12 → Something you never get compliments on.

I rarely get complimented on myself physically. I used to, back when I weighed 92 pounds, but now I am a smidge heavier after 2 kids, and NOTHING. Not even from my hubby. We all know men are visual creatures, so this is not surprising to me, sucks, but not surprising. And of course, being the loving hubby that he is, will say "You look fine" "Your not fat". Ok, well that is good, but "Fine" does not mean "Beautiful" or even "Pretty". So there.

Day 13 → A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough ass days. (write a letter.)

You know, I can't really relate to this question. I love music, but I don't think any of it has gotten me through a bad time.

Day 14 → A hero that has let you down. (letter)

Mom,

I used to look up to you and commend you for taking care of twins as a single mother. When we would get our lousy child support from dad, I would feel bad. There were times when we had no power, and it sucked. Hardly any food in the fridge, you were a mess at times, and we had to parent and take care of you. But we got through them. I have always considered you to be a hero to me, you helped me through some extremely bad times, and for that I am eternally grateful, and still think of a lot. I appreciate you living with us and helping out with the kids and keeping me company. BUT. Mom, you kind of let me down. Now that I am grown and have children of my own, I don't understand why half the things that happened, did. I would do WHATEVER it took to keep power on for my kids, make sure there is PLENTY of food on the table, in the pantry, in the fridge. I do not know what has happened to you, when did you become so selfish? You never wanna play with the kids unless it is at home, you don't want to do anything THEY want to do. If you don't want to do it, you don't. This isn't about YOU, it is about THEM. You complain that you don't have enough money to buy them things, yet you have plenty for cigarettes. You tell me that you quit smoking, even though, I know you haven't. You lie all the time, over the dumbest things! I have to guilt trip you into doing anything fun, and the kids beg for you to do things and you blow them off. One day, they won't have me to cushion it for them, they will have minds of their own and they will know. Like when you told B that you didn't want to go to chuck-e-cheese for his birthday, that you would go next time (you said that a week earlier about chuck-e-cheese then) and you told him that you would make him your special one and make sure you spent his birthday with him. HELLO?!!? YOU LIvE HERE, OF COURSE YOUR GOING TO BE HERE FOR HIS BIRTHDAY. And did you do anything special with him?! NO?! Do not manipulate my 5 year old!  Mom, why do you act so stupid? Your not at all. Why did you steal money from my kids piggy banks? Why are you so lazy? Why do you not think enough about yourself to give a shit about your life? The doctor says: "Stop smoking or you will die or end up on oxygen for the rest of your life" and Ladybug is ALLERGIC to cigarette smoke, yet you STILL SMOKE!!!! Did you know that you are ONLY 45.... 45!!!!!!! Do you want to be on oxygen right now? I make cupcakes for my kids, and the next day they are gone! And I get to tell them that I will make more and I won't dare tell them that their NANA ate them all, couldn't bother leaving some for them!  Ugh. When did you get this way? We fight everyday. You spill things, and you don't clean them up, I have to do it, and I am the child. I assumed you would do these things, guess I inherited my OCD cleaning from Dad, THANK GOD. I love you and appreciate you, but it is hard to respect you. You get angry when the kids won't listen to you. Do you know why? Because to them, and myself, your no longer an adult. Your a child. You whine and yell and are so dramatic. Your a hypochondriac, and I cannot understand all of this?! What happened to you?

Day 15 → Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it.
My husband.

Day 16 → Someone or something you definitely could live without.

Caffeine.

Day 17 → A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.

Not sure about this one.

Day 18 → Your views on gay marriage.

I'm conflicted. I have gay friends, and I want them to be happy, but I am also a christian woman, and I know that it is still wrong. Although, I don't think any less of them, at all, it is ok with me. See what I mean? Conflicted.

Day 19 → What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?

Religion: Tough. I attend church, and believe in God. But I feel that church is gearing more towards making money than anything now a days. Politics:  I LOATHE OBAMA.

Day 20 → Your views on drugs and alcohol.
Well My dad was an alcoholic, so I do not allow it in my house, and no longer drink it at all. I did when I was 18-20, no longer. Drugs, hubby is a recovering addict and I feel very strongly about them. I actually lost a good friend recently, because her hubby is on drugs and she has chosen to ignore this and trust him, and I disagree and think she is being stupid and naive. I did not want him coming to my house, near my children, and I did not want to be at their house any longer. Therefore, we are not friends. But do keep in mind, he has been a complete jerk to me, and I helped him and his family out. So. Goodbye to you. :)
