About the crazy.....

My photo
GA, United States
Just a southern gal from Georgia who has a real problem with baking. And by problem I mean, I can't help myself! :D I am married to the love of my life, he puts up with me so well! I am mother to the most adorable, yet tough little boy. And mother to a most beautiful full of attitude, little girl. I can't forget about our 4-legged family members! Our terrier Lucy, Our Great Dane Milo, our mutty mutt Ellie and our cats Abbey and Sammy! I LOVE to bake and I am trying to start up my own cupcakery. I love vintage anything! My blog started out as a blog for my cupcakes, now it has turned into an everyday into the life of "ME" blog. Life is not perfect and wonderful all the time, you will hear me gripe, bahahaha, it isn't all cupcakes. Just a heads up per say. :D Hope your reading experience is enjoyable! And please be sure to comment, follow, and grab my button!

Frustration & Cakes

I. DO. NOT. DO. CAKES.
Witht hat being said, here is the 2 cakes I did this past weekend.
Monkey Smash Cake

Mickey Mouse clubhouse cake

For those of you in the baking world like me, you know that it is costly and time consuming to do these things. Correct?
I am very frustrated. Why? Because I made these two cakes, charged $100.00 for both (which by the way it costs me $70 out of pocket before hand, not including labor). So, I think $30 for 2 cakes labor wise was damn practical. I felt bad because I do not like to charge that much money for htings liek this.... I think it is too much. But I asked around and asked fellow bakers and they would charge way more than that. So there is my rant and rave. I wish that I would have some kind of feedback from the people who bough them, or a reply saying they hated it, or something. Something is better than nothing.

Anywho!
LOL
I'm done.
Back with a non-ranting and raving post later! :)

<< same dilemma! I feel bad for "charging" friends to what sounds like to them, an absurd amount- but your right- it's not cheap. The products alone cost a small fortune, and the labor-- pfft- they don't think you have a life outside of making butter cream I guess!! :)

P.S-- The Cakes look great and delish!! I'd smash my little face into that monkey!!

TY Sara.... but for some reason, some people just don't understand. And the whole time she kept saying, "Do what you think will be cute, I have no idea about cakes or decorating."
